Predator Conservation Trust have provided several grants to help support the work of the Brown Hyena Research Project based in Luderitz, Namibia. The project studies the Brown Hyenas around the coast and inland in the Luderitz area and the diamond mining area known as the Sperrgebeit. PCT have supported the Brown Hyena Research Project for several years and have made grants for radio collars, video equipment, a digital camera and to help cover the cost of darting expeditions. Predator Conservation Trust have made several grants to assist the work of the Painted Dog Research Project run by Greg Rasmussen and his team in Zimbabwe. The Painted Dog Conservation team work on education, research, anti-poaching initiatives, rescues and rehabilitations, and relocations of African Wild Dogs. The Large Carnivore Atlas of Namibia is recording observations on sightings of large carnivores from the general public. Presently this information is entered into a database and has already changed the known distribution of many of the large carnivores in Namibia. It is hoped that the Atlas can be developed into a carnivore monitoring system in the future. Learn more about the Large carnivore atlas project

A steenbok survey was carried out at Kalahari Game Lodge, using a mixture of traditional and modern methods, including use of bushmen trackers, GPS positioning and computer modelling. Learn more about the Steenbok survey
Lise Hanssen and Flip Stander collaborated with a German masters student to use GIS (Geographical Information Systems) to help analyse leopard home range data. Learn more about the leopard home range study.
In late 2003 Flip Stander was involved in radio collaring a leopard that had been trapped on farmland.
